Built by people who kept asking "what theme is that?"

Any Theme Detector started as a small browser extension for one job: finding the Shopify or WordPress theme behind a store we liked. It grew into a detector for nearly 50 platforms.

How we detect themes

Every website leaves fingerprints in its public code. Shopify stores publish a theme record with the theme's name, version and Theme Store ID. WordPress themes describe themselves in a style.css header. Magento, PrestaShop, Drupal and Joomla reveal their themes in asset paths, and most platforms add generator tags, scripts or server headers that identify them. We read those signals and nothing else: we never log in, guess or scrape private data.

How we research our guides

Our "who uses what" articles come from scans we run ourselves with the same engine that powers the detector, and every one shows the date it was scanned. We only list a site under a platform when the scan confirms it. When a platform doesn't publish theme names, we say so plainly instead of guessing.

Independence and partner links

Some links on this site, such as theme marketplaces, hosting and website builders, are partner links. If you sign up or buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Partner programs never change what we detect or how we describe a platform. We are not affiliated with Shopify, WordPress or any platform we mention.
