How to Find Which Apps a Shopify Store Is Using

How to read the apps a Shopify store loads, and which ones top brands use most, from Klaviyo to Yotpo and Rebuy.

Which apps does this Shopify store use?

Article Summary: To see which apps a Shopify store uses, check the scripts its pages load. Each app loads code from its own domain, such as static.klaviyo.com for Klaviyo or judge.me for Judge.me. A detector matches those domains automatically and lists every app it recognizes.

  • Shopify apps load their code from their own domains, which reveals them in the page source.
  • Klaviyo appeared on 27 of the 49 Shopify brands in our scan, tied with Google Tag Manager.
  • Yotpo was the most common reviews app in our scan, found on 15 stores.
  • Apps that run only in checkout or the admin don't leave traces on the storefront.

A theme decides how a Shopify store looks. Apps decide much of what it does: reviews, email capture, subscriptions, upsells, live chat and search. If you are studying a competitor, the app list is often more useful than the theme.

How Shopify apps show up on a storefront

Most apps that change the storefront do it by adding a script. That script loads from the app's own servers, so its address gives the app away. A reviews widget from Judge.me loads from judge.me, Klaviyo's sign up forms load from static.klaviyo.com, and Recharge's subscription widget loads from rechargecdn.com.

You can see these yourself. Open the page source, search for .js, and read the domains. Or open developer tools, choose the Network tab, filter by JS and reload the page.

The apps we found most often

We scanned 49 well known Shopify brands with Any Theme Detector. These were the most common apps and services on their storefronts:

Scanned with Any Theme Detector on November 1, 2026. Sites change their themes, so run a fresh check for the latest result.

Two patterns stand out. Email and SMS marketing is close to universal among big brands, with Klaviyo far ahead. Reviews are split between Yotpo, Judge.me and Okendo, which suggests there is no single default choice.

Why some apps never appear

Not every app touches the storefront. Apps for inventory, shipping labels, accounting or fraud checks run inside the Shopify admin, and no visitor ever loads their code. Checkout extensions also stay hidden from the storefront. A detector can only report apps that load on public pages, so treat any app list as the visible part of the stack.

Some apps also load only after you interact with the page, such as a chat widget that appears after a few seconds. The Any Theme Detector Chrome extension reads the live page in your browser, so it catches these later scripts that a server side check can miss.

Using what you find

Once you know a competitor's apps, check three things before copying them:

  1. Price against your order volume. Many apps charge by orders or contacts, so the tool that suits a large brand may be expensive for a small store.
  2. Overlap with your theme. Newer themes include features such as upsells and reviews that once needed an app.
  3. Speed. Every app adds scripts. Keep the ones that clearly earn money.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see every app a Shopify store has installed?

No. You can see apps that load code on the storefront. Apps that only run in the admin, in checkout or behind the scenes leave no public trace.

How do I find which reviews app a store uses?

Look at the review stars on a product page. Their script usually loads from the app's domain, such as judge.me, yotpo.com, okendo.io or loox.io, and a detector names it directly.

In our scan, Klaviyo, Yotpo, Gorgias, Attentive, Judge.me, Okendo, Rebuy and Recharge were the most common third party apps, alongside Google Tag Manager and Shop Pay.
